Security forces have killed 14 militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Besima area of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was carried out in the Nal area after security agencies received credible intelligence about the presence of armed militants. Acting on the information, security forces launched a swift operation to prevent what officials described as planned terrorist activities.
According to ISPR, the militants were allegedly preparing attacks on a police station and several banks in the area. Security forces moved quickly to foil the planned assaults before they could be carried out.
As troops closed in on the militants’ hideout, an intense exchange of fire took place. Security personnel effectively restricted the movement of the militants and engaged them in a targeted operation.
During the firefight, 14 militants were killed, while several others were reportedly injured. Security officials described the operation as a major success against terrorist networks operating in the region.
The military’s media wing said that four vehicles being used by the militants were destroyed during the operation. A number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other materials were also recovered and neutralized.
However, the operation came at a cost. Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas embraced martyrdom while bravely fighting the militants. ISPR paid tribute to the fallen soldier, praising his courage, dedication, and sacrifice in the line of duty.
The military reiterated that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security personnel strengthen the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Following the operation, security forces launched a clearance operation in the surrounding area to search for any remaining militants and their facilitators. Officials said the operation would continue until the area is fully secured.
ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and stability in Balochistan and across the country. The military vowed that counterterrorism operations would continue with full force until all terrorist threats are neutralized.
