NSC says diplomatic language in ‘letter’ of grave concern; country to issue strong demarche

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the 37th meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) today.

Federal ministers attended the meeting including federal ministers of Defence; Energy; Information and Broadcasting; Interior; Finance; Human Rights; Planning, Development and Special Initiatives; chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, services chiefs, national security adviser and senior officers.

The national security adviser gave the briefing to the house about the formal conversation of a senior diplomat of another country with Pakistan’s ambassador which was then given to the Foreign Ministry.

The committee said that the language that was used by the senior diplomat was undiplomatic and of grave concern. The committee also said that no one should be allowed to interfere in the internal matters of the country.

“The committee decided that Pakistan will issue a strong demarche to the country in question both in Islamabad and in the country’s capital through proper channel keeping with diplomatic norms,” said the official statement.
