Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts KP

Several earthquake tremors were felt in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar on Monday.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.4 on the Richter scale. According to the seismological centre, the epicentre of the earthquake was 64 km from Wana, and it occurred at the depth of 188 km.

According to the earthquake centre, the earthquake was so intense that people came out of their houses and shops. Meanwhile, low-lying areas have been flooded due to heavy rains in various parts of Sindh, which has disrupted the communication system.

In Khairpur, the patients are facing serious problems due to the accumulation of water at the entrances and exits of the civil hospital, while in Sanghar, water is still accumulated in different areas although three days have passed since it rained.

On the other hand, due to heavy rains, the route to Gorakh Hill Station has been cut off due to which there has been a shortage of food items. After heavy rains in the Kher Thar mountain range in Dadu and in Kachhu, the mountain streams have flooded. More than a dozen villages have been flooded. More than twenty hours have passed since the rain in Jamshoro, but the water drainage could not start. Rain water entered people’s houses in different areas.
