Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s security forces killed eight suspected militants during two intelligence-based operations carried out in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, according to the military’s media wing.

The operations took place on June 25 and 26 after intelligence reports indicated the presence and movement of militants allegedly linked to what the military described as the Indian-backed group “Fitna al-Hindustan.”

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was launched in Kharan on June 25 after security agencies received information about the movement of armed militants. During the operation, troops engaged the suspects, killing three militants while several others were reportedly injured.

A second intelligence-led operation was conducted the following day in Mastung after authorities received reports about the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. Security forces targeted a militant hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire in which five militants, including the alleged suicide bomber, were killed.

The ISPR said security personnel recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles believed to have been used by the militants.

The military added that clearance operations are continuing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining militant presence. It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to counterterrorism efforts under the National Action Plan and the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy to eradicate militancy across the country.
