Abbottabad court orders FIR against policemen for TLP worker’s killing

Abbottabad court ordered the filing of an FIR against the district police officer and two additional police officers in connection with the alleged murder of a Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan member.

Additional district and sessions judge Raja Mohammad Shoaib Khan made the decision on Thursday during the hearing of a plea submitted by Mohammad Tayyab of Khwaigan, Mansehra.

The Abbottabad deputy superintendent of police Sabir Khan, DPO Sajjad Khan, and SHO Havelian Haroon Khan was among the booked officers.

The petitioner stated that on October 16, 2022, when the police opened fire at the Eid Miladun Nabi procession at the Chamba Bridge in Havelian, Mubashir Bhatti was still there.

He said that Mubashir was detained by the police before being shot and murdered by a policeman.

His attorneys Yousuf Hanjra and Mohammad Zubair Khan stated that their client requested the police register a ‘murder’ FIR, but that request was denied.
