Afghan children, women imprisoned in Karachi’s Jail

Imprisoned Afghans have been waiting for their deportation orders since more than two months

Hundreds of Afghan children and women have been imprisoned in the Central Jail of Karachi who have been waiting for their deportation orders for more than two months.

A heart-wrenching photograph of the Afghan kids at the ‘Bakhshi Khana’ of Karachi’s Jail has drawn criticism and slashing by the people from the country.

According to reports at present, 165 Afghan kids have been imprisoned at the Central Jail Karachi with their Afghan mothers while a total of 219 kids under the age of nine years, including Pakistani and Afghan, have been detained in the jail.

Similarly, the total number of Afghan women in the Central jail has been reported to be 139 out of which 56 were convicted while the remaining 83 have been under trial.

 

A Twitter user has shared the picture and details of the imprisoned Afghan women and children who according to him have been waiting for their deportation orders for last two months.
