End isolation of my country: Afghan FM urges world

The outgoing foreign minister in Kabul on Sunday encouraged the international community to support his country politically, diplomatically and economically after spelling out that political isolation of the war-ravaged nation in the wake of the Taliban victory is not suitable for anyone.

He was addressing the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the FM stated that Kabul was prepared to listen to and accept all requests, concerns and advice of Islamic countries with respect to Afghanistan that can lead towards a proper and just roadmap and direct us out of the current crisis.

He added that they, as a representative and responsible government of the Afghans, regarded human rights, women’s rights and participation by all competent Afghans from various regions their responsibility, and had done much in this regard and would continue to take additional steps.

He asserted that an order was declared by the leader of the Islamic emirate about female rights, which would prove instrumental in granting them rights. He said that Kabul continued to be the target of biased propaganda by a few media platforms wherein the current portrait of the country was illustrated in a skewed manner to the world.

He said that there were no political detainees in his country and every official department was functioning smoothly. He claimed that 500,000 bureaucrats from the former regime were working in different departments of the current regime and none were treated in a discriminatory or vengeful manner. He further said that the current government in Kabul included people across caste, geography and faith.

He maintained that they remained committed to widening participation by allowing opportunities for experts from every caste and religion to participate.

The Afghan FM added that financial mismanagement had been removed in Afghanistan and the new rulers had established their decree in the country.

The new regime is in charge of the whole country, and does not pose a danger to any nation and as a ruling system reserves the right to have formal ties with the global community and act like a responsible member of the broader comity.

He assured that his country would not be used for extremism, urging the international powers to support the current security and back it politically and economically. He especially addressed Muslim states to initiate financing in Afghanistan.

He said speaking on behalf of his country that his government would provide financiers with every amenity, and that the current stability had paved the way for regional economic integration.

He stated that the Afghans needed immediate help to mitigate a human catastrophe.
