Ahead of the upcoming elections, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) members of provincial assembly (MPAs) making contact with other parties.
According to a local media report, dissatisfied MPAs of the PTI from KP have started contacting other political parties for tickets ahead of coming general elections.
Media reports have claimed that some of the dissatisfied PTI members have also even been promised party tickets.
After the former provincial law minister, Sultan Khan, had left the party, it has been reported that up to 15-20 MPAs were leaving PTI. PTI’s MPAs’ strength in the provincial assembly is 94 currently.
Media reports have also quoted PTI officials and other members as saying that they were aware of the MPAs who had been in contact with other parties. PTI members also said that the dissident members knew that they would not be given tickets in the coming elections and that was the reason they had been looking to leave the party.
Media has also quoted that only the members who had been actively playing their role since the ouster of Imran Khan would be given tickets whereas inactive party members will not be given any tickets.
A dissatisfied PTI MPA has said that he had disagreed with policies of PTI because MPAs were being neglected except only a few who were being honoured. He also said that elections had been approaching and people would ask what had been done for the constituencies.
PTI member Sultan Khan had said that he would support Amil Wali Khan; adding that he disagreed with some policies of the PTI.
