Alhamra’s 24th drama festival to commence tomorrow

An essential meeting was held at Alhamra, presided over by the Art Council’s executive director, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi. The motive of the meeting was to take utmost care to present only quality theatrical productions under the banner of Alhamra’s 24th drama festival, so that the event stretching across 10 days becomes a memorable event for all those people who are willing to attend.

The festival will launch on January 20 and continue till January 29, with various theatre groups performing each day. All the groups have been earnestly doing their rehearsals, said the executive director, and the plays that will be performed before the excited theatre-goers will be ‘Parmeshar Singh’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Dastaan-e-Hazrat e Insaan’, ‘Hor da Hor’, ‘Medha Ishq Vi Tun’, ‘Yeh Bhi Koi Zindagi Hai’, ‘Saanvari’, ‘Shah Hussain Madhulaal’, ‘Marya Hoya Kutta’ and ‘Deewana Bakaar Khesh Hushiyaar’ presented by MAAS Foundation, Aks Theatre, Ghayyur Theatre and Arif Amin Dramatics, Salamat Productions, Creators Production, Sangeet Theatre, Dolphin Communication, Ajoka Theatre and Azaad Theatre. All the enactments have taken care to bring under consideration socio-political issues, even if subtly, so that the watchers, especially the young ones, can attain awareness and play a part in making the country a better place to live in.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director-Admin Aftab Ahmad Ansari, Deputy Director PR Subh-e-Saadiq, Assistant Director Khurram Naveel, Minna Haroon, Mehmood Yaqoob, Naveen Roma and Tahir Mehmood, all of whom gave their precious advice in hope of good and quality entertainment.
