Ali Amin Gandapur attacked check post while intoxicated, says Police

PTI claims Gandapur’s car was attacked by police at three points but he managed to survive

Police have alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur of attacking the police check post while he was under the influence of alcohol. However, PTI has claimed that police had tried an assassination attempt of Gandapur at three points.

Ali Amin Gandapur allegedly created a ruckus at the Dajal check post on his way to Dera Ismail Khan, the police said.

Police said that all vehicles entered the check post on the border of KP and Punjab and managed to flee after the ruckus at the check post. The police spokesman added that Gandapur was under the influence of alcohol, his car was stopped at high speed and he also had a heated argument with the policemen during which Ali Amin and his associates opened fire at the check post.

On the other hand, DPO Mohammad Naveed said that after the incident four guards, including Aftab, Shakeel, Altaf and Nek Mohammad along with vehicles of Ali Amin Gandapur had been detained.

On the other side, PTI has claimed that police had attempted assassination attempt on Gandapur at three points but he managed to survive.

Musarrat Jamshed Cheema tweeted, “The Punjab Police should show some shame. The Punjab Police is proving itself to be a gang of robbers and kidnapping for ransom by firing on Ali Amin Gandapur’s car and injuring the guards present with him. Thankfully Ali Amin is doing well.”

PTI KP’s leader Atif Khan tweeted, “Assassination attempt on Ali Amin Gandapur. Punjab police ambushed him at 3 different locations while traveling from Lahore to DIKhan. 3 of his guards are seriously injured and 2 guards and driver missing.”
