Ali Asad wins bronze in CWG22 by defeating New Zealand’s Suraj Singh

Pakistani wrestler Ali Asad bagged bronze medals for Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2022. Asad defeated New Zealand’s Suraj Singh within 55 seconds to win a bronze medal in the Men’s Freestyle 57 kg category.

Asad was brilliant with his grip as he defeated Singh by gripping him from his legs and rolling him out of the mat to get a 10-pointer. Asad won the bronze medal as the final score stands at 11-0.

This was Pakistan’s third bronze medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.

Pakistani wrestlers Inayatullah (62kg) and Judoka Hussain Shah have previously won bronze medals in the multi-sports event.

Six Pakistani wrestlers participated in Commonwealth Games 2022, out of whom five won medals.
