‘All eyes on Pakistan-NZ world cup clash’

“Unsettling and disappointing” Over Pakistan tour pullout New Zealand Head Coach Gary Stead has admitted that what happened in Pakistan, recently, was “unsettling and disappointing”.

Stead also expressed sympathy for Pakistani cricketers and supporters.

“I believe they [the New Zealand side] are in good shape. What happened in Pakistan was undoubtedly disconcerting and disheartening, and we absolutely feel for the Pakistan cricket fraternity and fans,” Stead added. He’s also looking forward to New Zealand’s T20 World Cup start on October 26 against Pakistan. “Obviously, because it’s Pakistan, people will hype it up,” he said, “but for us, it’s no different than any other match we’ve played against them.” The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) would also provide players with a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the huge tournament, according to Stead. New Zealand was visiting Pakistan for the first time in 18 years, with three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 matches scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
