The Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit-Baltistan, Raja Shehbaz, has announced that Form 47 for all electoral constituencies has been completed. Speaking exclusively , he stated that the election authorities have finalized the compilation of election results from all constituencies, marking a significant step in the electoral process.

However, Raja Shehbaz revealed that the Election Commission has ordered re-polling at several polling stations in five constituencies due to reported irregularities and concerns that required further verification. He emphasized that ensuring transparency, fairness, and public confidence in the election process remains the commission’s highest priority.

According to the Chief Election Commissioner, the final results of the affected constituencies have been temporarily postponed until the re-polling process is completed. He explained that the decision was made to guarantee that every vote is counted accurately and that the outcome reflects the true will of the voters.

Raja Shehbaz announced that the re-polling will take place on June 15. Election officials are making the necessary arrangements to conduct the voting process in a peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner. Security measures and administrative preparations are also being coordinated to facilitate smooth polling operations at the designated stations.

Providing further details, he said that re-voting has been ordered at specific polling stations across five constituencies. In Constituency GBA-8, re-polling will be conducted at 10 polling stations. In Constituency GBA-13, located in Astore, voting will be repeated at one polling station. Similarly, in Constituency GBA-15, Diamer-I, re-polling will also take place at one polling station.

In Constituency GBA-16, Diamer-II, three polling stations have been selected for re-voting. The largest number of affected polling stations is in Constituency GBA-17, Diamer-III, where voting will be held again at 11 polling stations. These measures are intended to address any concerns raised during the initial polling process and to ensure the credibility of the election results.

The Chief Election Commissioner reiterated that all necessary legal and procedural requirements are being followed. He expressed confidence that the re-polling process would be completed successfully and that the final results for the affected constituencies would be announced shortly afterward.

The Election Commission’s decision reflects its commitment to maintaining electoral integrity and public trust. By ordering re-polling where necessary and delaying the final results until the process is completed, the commission aims to ensure that the democratic process remains transparent, fair, and acceptable to all stakeholders involved in the elections.
