Bilawal Afzal says Punjab govt has announced historical Ramazan package

Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information Aamir Mir on Wednesday visited three free flour distribution points in Model Bazaar Harbanspura, Siddique Palace Marquee, and Taj Palace Asim Town to review facilities being provided to the citizens by Punjab government.

The provincial minister ordered to form a separate queue at the Harbanspura free flour distribution point for the convenience of elderly citizens, and for women accompanied by children.

The administration was also instructed to eliminate queues from the main road to protect them from the sun. He said that arrangements should be made for the queues and seating of the beneficiaries at a safe place away from the road. Amir Mir reprimanded the in-charge Ali Shahid for poor arrangements at the Siddique Palace and directed Assistant Commissioner Shalamar Town to appoint someone afresh. The minister directed to immediately establish information counters at entry points of centres, and also directed to increase the number of staff at the free flour points for better management. Government employees should perform their duties sincerely and treat the beneficiaries with utmost kindness, he advised.

Amir Mir clarified that negligence from official duty or mistreatment towards free flour beneficiaries would not be tolerated at any cost.

He also said that from today, government was providing two bags of 10 kg flour to the beneficiaries so that the people could get better relief in this time of inflation.

Meanwhile, free flour was being provided to the citizens under the Punjab government’s historical Ramazan package. Provincial minister for Communications and Works and Excise, Bilal Afzal, expressed these views while talking to media persons during his visit to the free flour point in Khanewal along with Commissioner Aamir KhattakDeputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu and DPO Rana Umar Farooq were also present on this occasion.   He further said that Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has given a historical Ramadan package to the people of the province. He said that the timing of the free flour supply has been changed and it would start from 6 am in the morning now. The government would deliver the fruits of the Ramadan package to the citizens at all costs. He directed officials concerned to increase the number of counters in case of a rush adding that providing free flour in a dignified manner was the right of the citizens and their responsibility.

Commissioner Multan division Aamir Khattak said that he was personally monitoring the supply of free flour in the division and that better arrangements are our prime priority. Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu while giving a briefing said that over four bags of free flour have been distributed across the district so far.  DPO said that foolproof security arrangements have been made by the police. The minister reviewed the flour supply and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
