US President Joe Biden has declared a major disaster in California, as another storm hits flooded California.

The most recent storm systems swept into the state, causing up to six feet of snowfall and bringing heavy floods to already flooded areas.

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasted disastrous flooding across the lower Salinas River valley, a significant agricultural region south of San Francisco Bay, as a result of the most recent system, which is expected to bring heavy lower-elevation rain, significant mountain snow, and strong winds, along with another surge of Pacific moisture.

The statement from the White House said, “A major disaster exists in the State of California and ordered Federal aid to supplement State, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides.”

Following the declaration, temporary accommodation and repairs will be provided to those in need as part of federal money for relief.

In the past three weeks, there had reportedly been 19 storm-related fatalities.

According to Power Outage US, there were more than 16,000 homes without electricity in California on Sunday.
