Caretaker Prime Minister-designate Anwar ul Haq Kakar will be sworn in as the country’s 8th caretaker prime minister today.

The oath-taking ceremony of caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar will be held at the Presidency at 3 pm today.

Sources said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend the oath-taking ceremony while invitations have been issued to attend the ceremony.

Invitations have also been sent to the three service chiefs, including Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and four provincial governors have also been invited for the ceremony.

Apart from this, members of the former federal cabinet are also expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker prime minister.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar to reach PM House soon after swearing-in:

According to sources, Prime Minister-designate Anwar ul Haq Kakar will reach the Prime Minister’s House soon after the swearing-in ceremony.

On arrival at the Prime Minister’s House, Anwar ul Haq Kakar will be presented a guard of honor and he will be introduced to the staff of the Prime Minister’s House.

Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Balkh Sher Mazari, Moinuddin Haider, Meraj Khalid, Muhammad Mian Soomro, Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk have held the post of caretaker prime minister before Anwar ul Haq.

On the other hand, caretaker Prime Minister-designate Anwar ul Haq Kakar has sent his resignation from the senate to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.

Legally, Anwar ul Haq was not required to give up his Senate seat and there has been such an example in the past.

Sources said that the caretaker prime minister will finalize his cabinet in the next two to three days, former finance minister Ishaq Dar is being considered for the finance ministry in the caretaker cabinet and former foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani is being considered as foreign minister.
