Apex Committee meeting commits to keeping country’s integrity first

No one will help us if we don't fix our situation, Prime Minister addresses meeting

The meeting of the Apex Committee has held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which he briefed on the rising wave of terrorism in the country.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Information Minister Marrutum Aurangzeb, DG Military Intelligence, DG Intelligence Bureau, DG MO and DG Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) attended the apex committee meeting.

Apart from this foreign secretary, home secretary, chief ministers of the provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan, chief secretaries and IGs, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir and other officials also attended the important meeting.

Expressing commitment to keep the country’s integrity first at all costs the meeting decided to strictly implement the National Action Plan while it was agreed to continue the operations against terrorists.

The meeting was briefed on the rising tide of terrorism in the country and the Defense Minister and DG ISI’s visit to Afghanistan.

Addressing the Apex Committee meeting, the Prime Minister said that no one will help us if we don’t fix our situation. He said that the tragic incidents took place in Peshawar and Karachi where the security forces bravely fought the terrorists.
