Around 16 people were killed on Sunday morning after a bus caught fire in collision with a pick-up with drums of diesel on the motorway near Pindi Bhattian.
Hafizabad District Police Officer Dr Fahad Ahmad told local media that the passenger bus was going to Islamabad from Karachi.
The accident took place at 4:30am.
DPO also said that the passenger bus had collided with the pick-up, which caused the bus to burst into flames.
He stated that the drivers of both vehicles died in the accident.
He further mentiones that the seriously injured individuals were shifted to a hospital in Faisalabad.
NHMP said that IG Sultan Ali Khawaja visited the area of the accident to see relief work. He expressed grief over the lives lost in the horrific accident.
