Arms exhibition to take place after four-year

Pakistan will host the 11th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2022) next week bringing together the world’s superpowers to showcase their innovations and advancements in “arms for peace.”

IDEAS 2022 Coordination Director Brigadier Naveed Azam Cheema responded to a query at a curtain-raiser news conference on Saturday by saying, “The US and Russia both are among the exhibitors this year too.”

He was referring to the recent tension in relations between Washington and Moscow when he made his remarks.

Additionally, three European nations — Austria, Romania, and Hungary — are taking part in the defence show for the first time this year.

This demonstrates how popular the display has continued to be, Cheema said.

After a four-year break, the country will once again host the four-day event from November 15 to November 18 at the Karachi Expo Centre.

The bi-annual event was cancelled for 2020 in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

China has been allocated a whole hall to display its technologies. Another notable exhibitor at IDEAS 2022 would be the UAE.

The show is anticipated to be officially opened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on November 15.
