As deadline ends, grand operation against terrorists residing at Zaman Park expected

To apprehend the “terrorists” purportedly holed up in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence, the Punjab Police may undertake a “grand operation.”

All routes leading to Zaman Park, according to the police, have been sealed, and a sizable law enforcement personnel is present.

PTI was given a 24-hour deadline by the Punjab government to turn over the “terrorists” who had sought safety at the former prime minister’s house. The government gave the PTI a deadline till 2 p.m., which is already past.

According to sources, the capital city police officer (CCPO) and the inspector general of Punjab police have instructed the police to stay “vigilant”.

Amir Mir, the interim information minister for Punjab, stated on Wednesday evening that the provincial administration had no current intentions to detain PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The provincial minister stated in an interview that the administration will first let the 24-hour deadline pass before disclosing its plans.
