At least 2 die, several injured in Karachi bound train accident

Rickshaw appeared out of nowhere causing carriages of Pakistan Business Express to de-rail

At least two have died and several were injured after a rickshaw appeared out of nowhere in front of the Karachi-bound train at the level crossing causing carriages of the Pakistan Business Express to de-rail as it was travelling from Lahore to Karachi.

According to reports the train’s engine and two coaches derailed near Halloki and the damage on the railroad caused the operation of the train to be suspended. Rescue crews have arrived at the scene of the collision.

The train had met with an accident near Lahore in which the engine and two bogies of the train derailed and the railway operation was partially suspended.

Railway officials have said that a rickshaw driver tried to cross the railway track illegally.
