Attack on democracy

The systems must be repaired and efforts accelerated. Early elections are the only solution to all the problems. If not the exact dates then at least the mutually agreed month of the general elections must be declared. Coalition rulers or any institution should never make the mistake of evaluating Imran Khan. He is not alone. Right or wrong but by this time his followers have developed a deep emotional attachment to him. Any wrongdoing will reap horrible results

The whole nation has condemned the assassination attack on Imran Khan and PTI leadership during Long March in Wazirabad. Many analysts have called it an attack on the emotions of eighty percent people of Pakistan and injuring their feelings badly. It is not difficult for any sensible person to assess the psychological condition of the majority of Pakistanis during such an event. This attack was not for killing a person or some of them for personal grudges. It was an attack on the biggest party and an attack on the democratic process of the country. There were already many speculations about such attempts and the federal coalition rulers’ harsh and biased attitudes were also hinting at any such incident. Imran Khan himself had told it in public that there were plans to take his life. After the ousted of the PTI government, during the last some months, PTI has gained popularity and strength, its workers have come closer to each other just like a family. On the one hand, this attack will bring depression and frustration among the majority ranks of our nation and on the other hand will stimulate extremism and hatred among different factions of society. This is the worst thing that dirty minds could do for serving their purposes.  The world knows that Imran Khan is a sparkling reality of Pakistan. He has proved it in by-elections and brought this reality in the shining sun before everyone through his rallies and public meetings. The way the coalition rulers are trying to paint these rallies, and decreasing the number of participants by hundred times, shows that they are not ready anyway to confess the reality of Imran Khan who is living in the hearts of the majority of the people. Trying to crush him will mean crushing the hearts of hundreds of millions of Pakistanis and also people living in other countries.

Even In the present position of dangerous political rivalries, one can’t think that a coalition government can plan such a fatal attack on the most popular leader of the country that is no less than an attack on democracy and the country’s existence and solidarity. Most probably it was a plan of our worst enemy executed with the help of the country’s fifth columnists. Whatever has happened is no less than a plan of our worst enemies and the mean enemies of democracies and systems based on justice. It is the height of the plight. Next is the hell of devastations and miseries. Our institutions and politicians must sit together without waiting for anyone from the outside to start the process of reconciliation. Any wrongdoing will reap horrible results. Democracy demands fair, transparent, and justiciable elections and in our case early elections. Is there any so-called genius in this country who can’t understand that the present coalition government is offering different excuses for delaying elections only because it is aware fully that it cannot win any seat in the present Imran-loving environment?  In a democratic system how some selfish people or those who consider themselves very strong can stop the process of transferring the government to those who have their roots in the people. Whatever may be the designation, manoeuvring, or influence of the people in power they can’t deny the majority’s rule. If present coalition rulers want to run away from the country with their plundered wealth they can beg for a safe evasion. But they can’t make the country safe heaven of their corruption and tyranny.

Institutions, politicians, and every common person in Pakistan know the realities. No need of lying before the people. No repeating of bogus arguments and no more threats will work in this country. March of families with children, women, and elders is showing the severity of the affairs. If there are people who love this country and are not plunderers and greedy creatures, then they must not think about the individuals’ and party benefits only, but think about the benefit and strength of the country and the 22 crores of humans living here.  Humanity demands democracy, democracy demands elections, and a regime of purchased parliament members demands early elections. In this worsened environment emergency announcement of the agreed-upon election schedule is a must. Ignoring it will be considered some attitude adopted to please foreign bosses in place of voters who are always right in a democracy.
