Special Assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information and Broadcasting Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has said that Tuesday’s attack on a polio team in Tank was meant to disturb peace negotiations with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Speaking to a journalist on Tuesday, Barrister Saif said that anti-TTP organizations opposed negotiations for peace between the government and the banned party.

He added that extortion and attacks on police were occurring to derail the peace process.

Barrister Saif stated that they had spoken with the TTP on Tuesday and the representatives of the banned group were sincere in their communication.

The PTI leader criticized the PML-N-led federal government, alleging that the prime minister convened a jirga on the North Waziristan problem in order achieve political mileage.

He added that the situation in the region is under control and that the Swat problem had been settled.

Barrister Said also denied reports of terrorists reuniting in KP.
