Authorities change the head of JIT set up to investigate the attack on Khan

The Punjab government has changed the head of the joint investigation team (JIT) formed for the investigation of the firing incident on Imran Khan. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Khurram Ali has been appointed as the head of the committee.

The Punjab government had formed a committee a day earlier to investigate the Wazirabad attack in which the Home Department of Punjab had appointed DIG Establishment CPO Lahore Tariq Rustam Chohan as the head of the JIT while RPO DG Khan Syed Khurram Ali and IG Investigation Branch Punjab Ihsan Ullah Chohan, District Police Officer Vehari Muhammad Zafar Buzdar and SP CTD Naseebullah Khan had been included as a member.

Today the provincial government appointed RPO DG Khan Khurram Ali as the head of the committee while Tariq Rustam Chohan has been included as a member while the number of total members have also increased.

This JIT formed by the Punjab government will conduct a thorough investigation into the Wazirabad tragedy and submit its report to the provincial home minister and if needed it will again increase the number of members.
