The government has decided to review its strategy regarding Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan after TTP called off the ceasefire which was agreed upon in June.

The ceasefire was part of the deal brokered by the afghan Taliban with Islamabad.

The review of strategy came as a response to an announcement made by TTP earlier this week to call off a ceasefire and a warning of a rise in terrorist attacks.

The Afghan Taliban government which had been defying Pakistani pressure to act against the TTP and its supporters working out of the neighbouring country mediated the negotiations.

However, in light of the TTP’s revival and shift in command, the administration will explore all available measures for addressing the threat posed by militancy.

As per media sources, Pakistan’s official’s patience with TTP is running thin as danger emerges from TTP.

The new army Chief Gen. Asim Munir is also expected to provide significant advice to the Shebhaz Sharif-led government regarding the reassessment of the TTP and Afghanistan strategy.

Earlier, a delegation from Pakistan visited Kabul for one day on Tuesday under the direction of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar.

However, the official handout made no mention of Pakistan’s worries about the terrorist assaults that crossed international borders.

But as per media reports, this was one of the topics of discussion.

As per the media, there is also a chance that Govt may revise its strategy and hold direct talks with TTP.

Earlier Govt did not like approaching TTP directly and suggested talks with TTP through the Afghan Taliban.
