Captain of the national cricket team and legendary batsman Babar Azam has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding performance for Pakistan.
Babar Azam was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz at a ceremony held on the occasion of Pakistan Day at Governor House Lahore.
Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman presented the Sitara-i-Imtiaz medal to Babar Azam.
On August 14 last year, the Government of Pakistan announced that Babar Azam would be given Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
The 28-year-old Babar had become the youngest Pakistani player to receive this honor before former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed was the youngest Pakistani cricketer to receive the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi, Javed Miandad and Inzamam-ul-Haq had also got sitara-e-imtiaz.
