Balochsitan under attack

An attack on a Balochistan Constabulary vehicle in the Dhadar tehsil of the Kacchi district in Bolan by a suicide bomber left eight police officers and one civilian dead. Balochistan is once again shaken by terrorism. Around 10 am, a bomb went off on the Kambri bridge, which connects the Sibi and Kachhi districts.

Though it is unknown who attacked the police, terrorist organisations have been carrying out strikes around the nation with a high degree of impunity in recent months, worsening the law and order situation. The terrorist organisation has ramped up its assaults after the November breakdown of negotiations with the TTP, focusing in particular on the police in KP and the regions bordering Afghanistan. Balochistan’s insurgents have also increased their violent acts and are formally connected with the TTP, an illegal organisation. An Islamabad-based think tank recently revealed figures showing that January 2023 was one of the worst months since July 2018 with 134 fatalities (a 139% increase) and 254 injuries from at least 44 terrorist strikes across the nation.

The police vehicle that was targeted in the most recent incident was traveling back to Quetta from Dhadar, where members of the Balochistan Police were stationed for duty at a Sibi cultural festival. A suicide bomber was on a motorcycle when the vehicle struck it. Nine people were martyred as a consequence, one of whom was a civilian.

Terrorist groups are working to maintain Balochistan’s underdevelopment by inciting unrest and instability there to further their nefarious ends. With the help of the general public and the use of force, all such schemes may be thwarted. Balochistan’s terrorism is part of a plan to destabilize the nation.
