Bangladesh Cricket team’s vice-captain Nurul Hassan accused Virat Kholi of a “Fake throw” saying that onfield empires ignored a fake throw by Kholi that could have tied the match.

As per media reports he stated, “It could have been a five-run penalty,” adding “That also could have gone our way, but unfortunately… that didn’t materialize.”

India won Wednesday’s match by 5 runs destroying Bangladesh’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals for the first time.

Bangladesh batter Liton Das hit the ball toward the deep off-side in the seventh over of Bangladesh’s innings. As Arshdeep Singh of India threw the ball back, Kohli, who was standing at point, feigned a throw as the ball passed by him.

According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), despite Liton and non-striking batsman, Najmul Hossain pointing it out, Umpires Marais Erasmus and Chris Brown did not take action.

BCB cricket operations chief Jalal Yunus “We will discuss the issues wherever we get a chance to discuss,” he added. “It’s not a protest because there is no benefit of doing it now.”

BCB is also thinking of raising the matter in the International Cricket Council board meeting in Melbourne next week during the tournament.
