Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has said that the federal government should not shift its responsibilities onto the provinces. He stated that the current government has taken more loans than any other government in the country’s history.

Speaking to the media at the Parliament House, Barrister Gohar said that the budget is not a political issue but an important constitutional matter.

He stressed that Pakistan’s defence must remain strong and invincible against any enemy. He added that it is the federal government’s responsibility to fully meet defence budget requirements.

Barrister Gohar also said that the federal government has failed over the past four years. He claimed that the government weakened the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) by not introducing reforms.

He further said that institutional reforms were not implemented, which has negatively affected the business community.

Referring to the 18th Constitutional Amendment, he said provinces must receive their full share without any delay.

He added that if the federal government cannot directly implement decisions regarding the National Finance Commission (NFC), it should not attempt indirect methods either.
