Biden lashes out at Trump’s extreme ideology, calling his supporters enemies of democracy

US President Joe Biden has taken a strong stance against the “extreme ideology” of Donald Trump and his supporters during his speech in Philadelphia.

On Thursday, President Biden described Trump supporters as the enemies of American democracy in a prime-time speech intended to motivate voters before the crucial midterm elections.

The US President called on people of all political colours to fight against what he called “dark forces” aiming to undermine democracy within the Republican Party as the midterm elections approach.

During a speech, President Biden said, “Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal.”

The president unleashed an astonishing attack on Republicans who support Trump’s “Make America Great Again” and he urged his own followers to resist.

President Biden said “Political violence has no place in America” and issued a warning, alluding to the extreme Trump supporters’ attack on the US Capitol last year in an effort to prevent them from accepting their defeat.

Last week, Biden said that “semi-fascism” was driving Trump supporters.

Republican Senate Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy claimed that the word “vilifies” millions of hardworking, law-abiding individuals, which infuriated conservatives.

According to a recent survey released by The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, 47% of eligible voters would cast their ballots for Democrats and 44% for Republicans if the midterm elections were conducted today.

All of the House of Representatives seats and one-third of the Senate seats are up for election in November, and the Democrats are hoping for an upset.
