Bilateral relations with France very important to us: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that relations with France were very important to Pakistan, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union.

According to a statement from the Defence Ministry, Khawaja Asif met the French ambassador to Pakistan Nicolas Galey, who paid him a visit at the Defense Ministry.

Discussions of mutual interest, including the state of the region, were discussed during the meeting.

Khawaja Asif emphasized that an important part of our bilateral ties was working together to fight global threats like terrorism and extremism.

He further stated that Pakistan and France will continue to work closely on all issues of bilateral concern.

Asif stated that Pakistan was committed to a stable and peaceful region, but that in order to achieve that, the Kashmir problem needed to be resolved.

Pakistan also strongly opposed all forms and manifestations of terrorism.

According to APP, the French ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to regional stability.
