Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in India and will visit Goa next month.
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said during the weekly briefing in Islamabad that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with the delegation will attend the foreign ministers meeting to be held on May 4 and 5 in Goa, India next month.
He said the external affairs minister is attending the SCO foreign ministers meeting at the invitation of India’s external affairs minister and current SCO chairman S Jaishankar. “Attending the meeting is a reflection of our commitment to the SCO charter and the importance of Pakistan’s commitment to foreign policy priorities for the region,” he said.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also attended the meeting held in Tashkent in July last year.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said That Pakistan participates in the meeting due to its long-standing commitment to the SCO, the organization’s fourth ministerial meeting on climate protection was held online on April 18, 2023, in New Delhi.
Pakistan was represented by Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman at the meeting held in New Delhi, where Pakistan stressed the need to work jointly at the regional level for environmental stability and combating climate change.
An institutional meeting of the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was also held for the prevention and prevention of emergencies, in which Pakistan was represented by Saleem Shahzad Malik, Director of the National Disaster Management Authority.
