Blast in North Waziristan kills 13 labourers

A total of 13 labourers died and two sustained injuries in an horrible explosion in the Shawal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan on Sunday.

North Waziristan District Police Officer Naik Muhammad confirmed and said the incident took place near the Pak-Afghan border. The vehicle in which the labourers were travelling was destroyed by the blast.

The incident happened on Saturday night when labourers were going to South Waziristan from the Shawal area of North Waz­ir­istan in a vehicle.

Police officials stated that the private vehicle carrying the labourers collided with a landmine in the Gull Meer Kor areas.

As per local leader Yar Gul, terrorists had planted a bomb device on roadside to target security forces.

Local people said the bomb exploded when the security forces convoy passed by.

Among the people, 11 labourers from the Mehsud tribe belong to the Spin Kamar area of the district while the other two belong to South Waziristan’s Lower Ahmedzai Wazir.
