Car bomb blast in southeast Turkey injures 8 security officers

A car bomb blast in the southeast turkey area in the centre of Diyarbakir resulted in 8 security officers’ injuries.

Security officials confirmed that eight officers are badly wounded when a bomb exploded in a roadside vehicle as their minibus passed on a highway in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

According to Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, two people who are thought to be the blast’s perpetrators have been detained.

The governor’s office in Diyarbakir reported that no one had been seriously injured by the explosion, but nine passengers in the armoured minibus had been transported to the hospital for examinations.

No one immediately took the blame however, Islamist, communist, and Kurdish militants have all previously carried out bomb attacks in Turkey.
