Caretaker Prime Minister hosts EU ambassador and British High Commissioner for discussion

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar recently held separate meetings with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott and European Union Ambassador HE Reena Cuenca. During his discussion with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the enduring relations between Pakistan and Great Britain, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further fortify this bilateral partnership. He conveyed his best wishes to King Charles III and the leadership of the United Kingdom while stressing the necessity of enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, climate change, and education.

In response, the British High Commissioner extended congratulations on behalf of the British leadership and assured Pakistan of continued support during this phase of democratic transformation.

In his meeting with HE Reena Cuenca, the European Union Ambassador to Pakistan, Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar expressed contentment with the positive progress in Pakistan-EU relations. He underscored the pivotal role played by the GSP Plus scheme in boosting Pakistan’s exports to European markets and advocated for its continuation. Kakar affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the rights of all citizens and ensuring constitutional continuity until the upcoming general elections.

Ambassador HE Rina Kivinka, on her part, reiterated the European Union’s commitment to supporting Pakistan and pledged to further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. These meetings signify Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening international ties and fostering collaborative efforts across various domains.
