Caretaker Sindh Maqbool Baqir allocates portfolios to ministers, Information Minister post vacant

Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir, the caretaker Chief Minister, has allocated portfolios to the caretaker ministers who took oath on Saturday at the Governor’s House in Karachi. According to a notification issued by the officials of the Services General Administration and Coordination Government of Sindh (Cabinet Section), Brigadier (Retired) Haris Nawaz was allotted the Home and Prison portfolios, Mohammad Mubin Jumani for Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, and Rehabilitation, Mohammad Younis Dagha for Finance, Revenue, Planning, and Development. Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz has been given the ministries of Health, Social Welfare, and Public Health Engineering Department. Ishwar Lal was allotted the significant Irrigation Department, while Barrister Omar Soomro will be the new minister for Law, Religious Affairs, and Human Rights. Khuda Bux Marri will oversee the affairs of Mines and Minerals, Ms. Rana Hussain was given the portfolios of School Education and Women Empowerment, and Arshad Wali Mohammad will be the caretaker minister for Tourism, Environment, and Climate Change.

However, the caretaker chief minister could not appoint anyone for the important post of the information minister for ‘unknown’ reasons.
