Inter-Services Public Relations said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Zhob district in Balochistan on Wednesday to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with troops deployed along Pakistan’s western borders.

The visit began with Eid prayers attended by senior military officers and soldiers stationed in the frontier region. Special prayers were also offered for Pakistan’s peace, stability and prosperity, while tribute was paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country.

During his interaction with officers and soldiers, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the professionalism, courage and operational readiness of the troops performing duties in difficult conditions along the western frontiers. He appreciated their continued vigilance and commitment amid growing security challenges and foreign-sponsored terrorism.

The army chief paid tribute to the sacrifices of security personnel engaged in counterterrorism operations across the country. He said the bravery and determination shown by Pakistan’s armed forces remained a symbol of national strength and resilience.

Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Quetta, the field marshal said hostile elements backed by India and operating through proxy groups were involved in attempts to destabilise Pakistan. He described the attack as a cowardly act of terrorism and stated that such incidents could not shake the resolve of either the armed forces or the people of Pakistan.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan’s armed forces, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies and the people of Balochistan, would continue operations against terrorists and their facilitators with full determination. He stressed that all elements involved in terrorism would be pursued and eliminated with force.

During the visit, the army chief also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and paid homage to the martyrs who embraced shahadat while defending the motherland. He said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs would always remain a source of pride for the nation.

According to ISPR, the field marshal was received on arrival by the commander of Quetta Corps. The visit highlighted the military leadership’s continued engagement with frontline troops during Eid and its focus on maintaining security along sensitive border areas.
