Celebrities wonder if Imran Khan would stand up for them as well

Showbiz celebrities apprehensive that PM Khan would support them the same way they did with him

Of all the people who have been supporting Imran Khan since the day he assumed office as Prime Minister, Pakistani celebrities have been the most passionate ones. Be it Shaan Shahid, Mahira Khan, Fatima Khan, Humayun Saeed, Muneeb Butt or Syra Yusuf, the best of best from amongst the showbiz celebrities have sided with Imran Khan even amidst the current chaos his government is in.

However, seeing the massive support which he had and continues to garner from the celebrities, a few stars have started showing concern if Imran Khan will support the media industry the same way if he remains in power. This concern was first put forward by stage, film and television actor Yasir Hussain, who took to his Instagram to share a status the English translation of which goes as follows:

“I pray that Imran Khan supports actors the same way they are supporting him once he comes in power.”

Yasir Hussain has been observed time and again expressing his concern over the government’s at times lack of interest, and at times weird takes, on local content. He was also one to call out the premier for his over-the-top interest in Turkish content during the initial days of his government.

Other than him, drama writer Inam Hasan of ‘Belapur Ki Dayan’ fame also took to his Facebook to say that celebrities supporting Imran Khan is quite disappointing and would yield no results. He said they do not have the slightest idea what damages have been caused to the country’s economy and in what circumstances the poverty-stricken class of Pakistan is living. They need to move out of their rich and comfortable lifestyles to see if Imran Khan’s government is worth supporting or not, Hasan said.
