‘Choudhry and Sons’ to mark Sohail Ahmed’s comeback in drama industry

Veteran actor stayed away from commercialized drama serials

Veteran stage and television actor Sohail Ahmed is all set to make his comeback to the drama industry after many years of staying away from it and focusing more on films and infotainment shows.

‘Choudhry and Sons’ promises to be a comedy, family-oriented drama serial, which is set to go on air on GEO TV for the month of Ramadan, its cast starring seasoned performers like Shagufta Ejaz, Asma Abbas, Ashraf Khan, Yasir Nawaz, Beenish Chohan and the much-endeared Ayeza Khan and Imran Ashraf.

Written by Saima Akram Chaudhry, ‘Choudhry and Sons’ will bring Ahmed into his much sought-after avatar, that of a doting yet grumpy patriarch, very much like the one he was found essaying in popular Pakistani film, ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’. Ahmed, ever-since the commercialization of Pakistani drama serials, has kept himself at a distance from the medium despite having played some unforgettable characters for Pakistan Television in drama serials such as ‘Din’, ‘Reza Reza’,  ‘Kaajal Ghar’, ‘Susar in Law’, ‘Tere Liye’, ‘Number One’, ‘Parmeshar Singh’, ‘Ullu Baraaye Farokht Nahi’, ‘Malangi’, ‘Home Sweet Home’,  ‘Shab Daig’, ‘Kharidar’, ‘Fishar’, ‘Eindhan’, ‘Juda’ and ‘Choki Number 420’.
