Our world has always been rife with conspiracy theories. Any major event that changed the course of history has had conspiracies pursuing it. Right from President John F. Kennedy’s assassination to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, there has always been a different kind of sinister motive behind them. Among all these events, September 11, 2001, attacks in the US, popularly known as 9/11, stand out. Despite the passage of over two decades, the conspiracy theories associated with the event refuse to die out. They have only been emboldened, thanks to the internet.
As had always been the case, the US authorities, including the 9/11 Commission, strongly refuted the conspiracy claims, but some groups and individuals continue to work on these theories, circulate them, and find supporters who strongly believe them. Over the years, many activist groups, not to mention celebrities and politicians, have insisted that there was more to 9/11 than just terrorism. They claim that facts have been hidden. Lately, there has been another revelation concerning the 9/11 attacks. Whether it’s another conspiracy theory or a fact, time and investigations will reveal it, but going by its details, it cannot be brushed under the rug.
A report, which Rt.com claims to have been filed by a Guantanamo Military Commission, states that some of the hijackers involved in the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, were CIA agents. This is a very serious revelation, but if one goes through the findings of the report, it raises many eyebrows. As per details, the commission had primarily been tasked with unearthing any Saudi government link to the 9/11 attacks. Instead, the commission members uncovered the CIA’s involvement in recruiting at least two of the hijackers.
This revelation was made following investigations conducted by the lead investigator of the commission, DEA veteran Don Canestraro. Although the document was entirely censored and edited, independent researchers managed to gain access to it.
As per the report, Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar may have been recruited by a CIA operative after remaining under watch. It was further revealed that both hijackers were allowed a six-month entrance to the US despite being regularly designated by the CIA and NSA as possible Al Qaeda militants. This can be gauged from the fact that both Saudis reportedly attended a meeting of Al Qaeda in Kuala Lumpur before the 9/11 attacks. The information was shared by the Malaysian authorities and could have been useful to prevent them from entering the US. But, the CIA did exactly the opposite. It not only stopped the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from discussing the two men but also assisted them at the airport.
The report goes on to discuss in detail the activities of the two individuals, their stay, and their acquaintances in the US. The evidence thus provided in the report suggests that the CIA “hindered official investigations to hide its infiltration of Al Qaeda, based on an examination of secret documents maintained by the FBI and Pentagon, as well as interviews with members of both agencies”.
Every century has had events that changed the entire world’s scenario. The 20th century had its two world wars that reshaped the world map and carved out new allies and foes. Just like that, 9/11 was undoubtedly a history-changing event that occurred at the very start of the 21st century.
The World Trade Center attacks revealed the new face of terrorism. The Middle East was never the same again. This Guantanamo Commission report sheds light on a lot of secrets, but how true these facts are, one will never know. One thing is for sure, there will be no end to conspiracy theories.
9/11 was an inside job. The very visible evidence for that is available on nearly every video of the three collapsing steel-superstructure high-rise towers at the World Trade Center that were destroyed that day. First, they were the first skyscrapers in over 100 years of building these kinds of buildings to completely collapse because of office fires. (N.B. NIST’s final reports stated that the official cause of the collapses was office fires.)
Further, all three buildings had visible collapse characteristics that cannot occur in gravity-driven collapses. The asymmetrically-damaged buildings all collapsed symmetrically, a statistical impossibility for even one such building, not to mention three on the same day.
They all came down at (or very near) free fall acceleration through thousands of tons of undamaged steel and concrete. That can’t happen without explosives.
And, the smaller and weaker tops of the Twin Towers above the crash sites supposedly collapsed crushing the larger, stronger and undamaged portions of the buildings below the crash sites to the ground. That could only happen in a world where Newton’s third law of motion (…every action has an equal and opposite reaction…) didn’t exist. In other words the top 15 floors of the North Tower above the crash site could only possible crush the next 15 floors below because while it was crushing, it was also being crushed.
