Citizens will not be fined for minor violations during Eid-ul-Fitr

Lahore Traffic Police has finalized the traffic plan for Eid days and announced that during all three days of Eid, citizens will not be given a traffic challan on minor violations.

On the other hand, serious violations will continue to be prosecuted. Violating the signal, and rules pertaining to one-way traffic, racing, rioting will continue to result in action from authorities.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore said that traffic police would adopt a zero-tolerance policy on serious violations. He added that one-wheeling, racing, and rioting would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Underage drivers driving vehicles, motorcycles and rickshaws would be stopped, he stated.

“After submitting the guarantee bond by the parents, the car and motorcycle will be returned,” he added.

He further said that the main cause of accidents was irresponsible driving. “Safe city cameras will be used to prevent overspeeding. Checking will continue from time to time with speed guns on other important roads including Khayaban-e-Jinnah,” he added.

He appealed to parents to act responsibly and keep a close eye on their children.
