Clash between flood victims and authorities injures ten in Kandhkot, Sindh

Ten people were injured when weapons were used whilst ration bags were being distributed among flood victims in Kandhkot, Sindh.

According to media reports, authorities distributed 50 ration bags to 500 flood affectees.

The shortage of ration bags caused an altercation between the victims and the district authorities. Subsequently, shots were fired to disperse the group, resulting in injuries to 10 people.

Rescue officials have said that at least two of the injured were in a critical condition.

Later, police arrived at the site of incident and brought the situation under control. However, locals have blamed the administration for mismanaging distribution of ration bags among the flood and rain affectees of the area.

Media has also reported that due to a clash between district administration and the flood victims over drainage of rainwater, the security guard of Assistant Commissioner Qazi Ahmed was killed.
