COAS calls for end to bloodshed in Ukraine

Says leaders need to disregard emotion for solution to Kashmir issue

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday spoke at the opening ceremony of the 2nd day of the Islamabad Security Dialogue.

The Islamabad Security Dialogue was started in 2021 to bring international speakers to discuss the security challenges faced by the world.

This year the 17-international dialogue joined the moot from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Russia, European Union, Japan, Philippines and others.

Speaking at the event COAS said that Pakistan is located at the crossroads of economic and strategic confronts. He said that spaces like this where intellectual comes and debates about the future and security should be promoted.

COAS also mentioned that we have to be patient with the Afghan interim government. Pakistan is hosting almost 4 million Afghan refugees and for peace and stability, the west has to be supportive.

He also said that the leaders have to think beyond emotional strategies and see the solution to Kashmir. While speaking on the Ukraine-Russia conflict chief said that we want both the parties to resolve everything through dialogue.

While mentioning India he said that one year of peace at LoC is appreciable but India has to give surety that their weapons are in safe hands to Pakistan and to the world.
