Court acquits Rana Sanaullah in narcotics case

Army being organized institution follows its policy, not of any General, Interior Minister

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has been acquitted in a narcotics case by Special Court in Lahore.

On Saturday, Interior Minister contacted a special court in Lahore to ask for acquittal in a drug case that was filed against him when PTI was in power. He was detained by members of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Lahore unit in July 2019. His car allegedly contained 15 kg of heroin, according to ANF. Five more people including his driver and security guards were also detained by a special police unit.

Sanaullah said in his plea stated that the evidence against him was concocted, designed and falsified.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that the army was an organized institution, not general Qamar Javed Bajwa or General Asim Munir, but the policy of the institution was followed. He asked why Imran Khan was not talking about the conversation between Farah Gogi and Zulfi Bukhari and Bushra Bibi regarding Toshakhana.

Talking to the media he said that cases against PML-N from all over the world are proving to be false, vengeance has been taken against us, and false cases had been made. He said that if these cases were ending then it was all according to justice. He said that Imran Khan himself used to say that UK agencies had merit.

Sanaullah said that Daily Mail had formally admitted the mistake because it had published false news at the behest of Shahzad Akbar. He said that PML-N has requested Nawaz Sharif to be present in the election campaign, decide the party ticket and announce the party’s manifesto. He told that Nawaz Sharif has accepted the request and will come to Pakistan, this time he will get a majority in Punjab and form the government.

The federal minister also said that the PTI has not yet decided to dissolve the assemblies. He said that there were no political cases against Shahbaz Gill as everyone had condemned the talk of spreading hatred.

He said that Imran Khan will never invite him for talks, PDM was ready for unconditional talks and President Alvi has been trying to play a role. He said that earlier the attempt was made by Pervaiz Khattak, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry but Imran Khan did not listen to them.

Rana Sanaullah further said that the general elections will be held in 2023 and they will fight the elections with full preparation and this time there will be no situation like 2018 for us in the election.
