Court grants Imran last chance to appear before court

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan a last opportunity to appear before it at 5 pm to explain his plea for protective bail and the matter of different signatures.

LHC summoned Imran Khan at 2 pm today. When the hearing of the case started at 2 o’clock, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh inquired, where is Imran Khan?

The attorney of Khan replied that Khan was on his way and would reach soon as there was a problem regarding security.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh said, “Is it my problem to resolve security issues? the hearing is being adjourned for some time.”

When the hearing resumed after the break, Imran Khan’s lawyer said that Imran Khan’s protective bail application was not filed by his signature.

The court questioned that if Imran Khan did not file this petition then how can he withdraw it?

The lawyer of Imran Khan requested the court to dismiss the petition, on which the court said that the hearing will still go on.

Justice Tariq said, “Your behavior should have been apologetic, I will give you a show cause notice.”

The court further added, “Let the court pen down the order, you are making fun of the law, Imran Khan is a leader, a role model, he should act like one.”

To which Lawyer Khawaja Tariq Rahim said, “It is suitable for Imran Khan to come to the court at 5 PM.” To which the court said that the court already gave khan a lot of concessions.

The lawyer requested the court to grant khan a last chance to appear at which the court gave Imran Khan a last chance to appear at 5 pm.
