A local court in Islamabad on Sunday remanded human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and PTM leader Ali Wazir into police custody.
The Islamabad police arrested Imaan and Wazir in the wee hours of Sunday on the charges of interference in state affairs.
Both have been booked in a case, registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
They were presented before Duty Judicial Magistrate Ehtisham Alam, while the police asked for their physical remand.
The court remanded Imaan to police custody for one day and Ali Wazir for two days.
Imaan’s lawyer filed a request for the return of her mobile and other belongings taken at the time of her arrest.
The court asked a report from the Tarnol Police’s Station House Officer on the case.
The court remanded Ali Wazir into police custody for one day in a terrorism case and said that Imaan will stay in women’s police station’s custody.
