Court sets July 25 to indict alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky

A judicial magistrate in Karachi South has fixed July 25 for the indictment of Anmol alias Pinky, who is facing multiple drug trafficking cases registered at Gizri Police Station.

The hearing was held before the Judicial Magistrate (South), where proceedings were conducted in connection with six narcotics cases against the accused. During the hearing, the court was informed that copies of the charge sheets and witness statements had been provided to the accused, who is currently in jail.

According to the court, the required legal formalities have now been completed. Court staff personally delivered the relevant documents to the accused inside the prison to ensure compliance with procedural requirements.

After confirming that all legal obligations had been fulfilled, the magistrate scheduled July 25 for the formal framing of charges against Anmol alias Pinky. The court also adjourned further proceedings in the cases for two weeks.

Police told the court that the six narcotics cases were registered at Gizri Police Station during 2020, 2021, and 2022. Investigators said the accused had remained a proclaimed absconder in these cases for several years, preventing the legal proceedings from moving forward.

According to the prosecution, the cases were revived after Anmol alias Pinky was arrested in connection with a separate criminal case registered at Garden Police Station. Following that arrest, police formally showed her arrested in the six pending narcotics cases as well, allowing investigators to resume the legal process.

The prosecution maintained that the completion of procedural requirements, including the supply of case documents to the accused, paved the way for the court to proceed with the indictment stage. The formal framing of charges is expected to mark the beginning of the trial, during which the accused will be asked to plead guilty or not guilty before the court.

The six cases relate to alleged narcotics offences investigated by Gizri Police Station over a span of three years. With the accused now in judicial custody and all required documents served, the court is set to move the proceedings into the trial phase.

The next hearing, scheduled for July 25, will focus on the formal indictment, after which the court is expected to begin recording evidence and hearing witnesses in accordance with the law.
