Crackdown on Illegal Encroachments in Garho City: Large-Scale Administrative Action Underway

Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Thatta, a comprehensive anti-encroachment operation was carried out in Garho city under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Ghorabari, Soorath Mazhar. The operation targeted illegal constructions and encroachments obstructing public spaces, particularly in the main market area.

The action was conducted with the support of Mukhtiarkar Ghorabari, Maqsood Ahmed Jokhio, and SHO Garho, Asad Elahi Awan, along with a heavy contingent of police personnel. During the operation, authorities removed multiple illegal structures, including temporary shops and extended platforms that had been established on roads, footpaths, and public passageways.

According to officials, these encroachments had been causing severe obstruction to traffic flow and pedestrian movement, creating difficulties for residents and shoppers in the busy commercial area. The removal of these structures immediately improved the situation, restoring smooth traffic circulation and providing relief to the general public.

Assistant Commissioner Soorath Mazhar, while overseeing the operation, issued strict warnings to local shopkeepers and traders, instructing them to refrain from occupying government land, footpaths, and roads for commercial use. She emphasized that any violation of these directives would result in strict legal action without exception.

She further stated that such operations are not a one-time initiative but part of a continuous campaign being carried out across all towns of Ghorabari taluka on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Sarmad Ali Bhagat. The objective is to ensure the removal of illegal encroachments and to maintain smooth access to public spaces.

Speaking to the media, she reaffirmed that the district administration is fully committed to providing a clean, organized, and accessible urban environment for citizens. She added that no leniency will be shown to violators, and regular monitoring will continue in all markets and public areas.

The Assistant Commissioner also announced that a dedicated monitoring committee would soon be formed to identify, prevent, and address future encroachments. The committee will work in coordination with local authorities to ensure long-term compliance and sustainable urban management.

Residents and business owners have largely welcomed the operation, stating that the removal of encroachments has significantly improved mobility and reduced congestion in the market area.
