The Australian cricket team’s visit of Pakistan has reached the final
phases of planning. According to reports, a four-member Australian
Cricket Board delegation has arrived in Pakistan in this regard. To
assess the logistical and security conditions, an Australian
delegation will go to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

Minute Mirror learned that the group will be in Karachi for the
matches between Pakistan and the West Indies. The Australian
delegation will also be updated on the preparations for the upcoming
West Indies series.

The visiting security delegation will give their
report to Cricket Australia at the conclusion of the tour. The
Australian cricket team is scheduled to visit Pakistan in March and
April of next year. Three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and a
Twenty20 match will be played during the visit. The Australian squad
will visit Pakistan for the first time since 1998.

Earlier, Tim Paine, Australia’s captain, indicated on November 9 that
several players in the camp might feel “uncomfortable” travelling
Pakistan next year.

Tim Paine stated in an interview with Australian radio station SEN
that certain players may not be 100 percent on board with travelling to
Pakistan.

“Some players would be content to follow the experts’ counsel, but
others will want to learn more,” Paine had predicted. “If we’re being
completely honest, some people may not feel comfortable going anyway.
There will be “problems that will, I’m sure, spring up”, according to
Paine.

He stated that the team will debate the topic and, hopefully, find the
correct answers. “Hopefully, we’ll get the greatest team we can,” he
said, adding that it is up to an individual, not the team, to decide
whether or not to go to Pakistan.
