The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has foiled a major terror plot on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and arrested nine terrorists, including a woman associated with the banned organization, from three sensitive cities.
CTD officials said that the operation was carried out in Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan.
Officials say the arrested woman is also an active member of the banned organisation’s network.
Hand grenades, suicide vests and cash were recovered from the accused.
According to CTD officials, the terrorists have been identified as Adnan, Abdul Halim, Shiraz, Bilkis and Umar bin Khalid.
He said that the network of the banned organization was planning terrorism on Eid-ul-Azha, cases have been registered against the terrorists and investigation has been started.
Officials said the CTD conducted 124 combing operations this week, arresting 11 suspects.
Officials say that the CTD is trying to eliminate miscreants.
